First, property managers need to be able to relate to anyone. This means low-income or high-income families and individuals, or people that are mean or nice.
Regardless of what kind of person they are, property managers need to be able to relate to them.
Second, a property manager can never get flustered. The job is to deal with people who are frustrated like residents if the hot water isn’t working.
Third, property managers have to be able to reduce drama. When the water heater or air conditioning goes out, residents will be very dramatic about the issue. Your job as the property manager is to push the drama down and calm people.
Lastly and most importantly, property managers make problems go away. There is a lot of problem-solving in the job, and at the end of the day, a property manager’s job boils down to fixing problems.
