Workplace diversity simply means having different groups of people working in one team. These people can be different from each other in terms of race, generation, or culture. It refers to the way how people who are not alike get to stay in one workplace, working together towards a common goal for the company.
While the workplace today is much more open to diversity and inclusion, there are still places out there that tend to have members wh discriminate. This can be a problem that will create conflict and dissatisfaction among the members of the working team.
There is a way to address this issue and that is by educating members of the team that diversity and inclusion are not something to be afraid of or wary of. There are folks in the group who are reluctant to know more about this, anticipating the long hours of explanation on why workplace diversity matters.
How do you make people interested in listening to workplace diversity courses? How do they open up to the idea that being diverse and different is not a bad thing? People need to be educated through anti racism courses and anti racism trainings. Having seminars on harassment training and unconscious bias training would help a lot in managing workplace diversity.
