How Much Does It Cost to Repair a Salvaged Vehicle?

Posted on September 10, 2021September 10, 2021

Car enthusiasts don’t always have nearly unlimited funds to throw at their projects. Often, instead of buying a like-new classic vehicle, they have to resort to repairing a salvaged vehicle themselves. While this can be challenging, the rewards are well worth the effort.

This youtube video goes into depth about restoring a particular collector’s car: a hellcat charger. The host explains why the car is a great choice for a salvage repair job.

Most of the vehicle is in great shape, and although the frame has some damage, that is to be expected. Some engine components would need to be replaced, but they are well worth the cost for such a nice collector’s vehicle.

The host breaks down the worst-case scenario for the cost of the salvage job. The frame repairs would likely cost $1200. Other costs could add up to $9000. Those numbers include outside labor costs, including professional painting. The host estimated the cost of the car at $20,000, so the total price would come out to about $30,000 for a like-new hellcat charger.

Overall, salvaging a vehicle could be a worthwhile investment of your time and money, especially if you find your perfect repairable salvage cars for sale in your area.
