Marketing for general contractors is an important aspect of their business. If a contractor does not work to spread his or her brand around their area, they won’t have a lot of contract offers when construction starts to pick up. This video explains a few core strategies every general contractor should use.

The first thing you need to do is come up with the right story and the right audience. You may not think of your business as a story, but you the best way to attract clients is to come up with a good story that conveys your brands values. You also need to figure out who your audience is. Are you telling your story to commercial businesses, residential homeowners, or someone else?

The second thing to do is to build strategic relationships. You may think you need to grow your business on your own, but it’s helpful to form partnerships with other professionals to get your business to the next level. For instance, if you renovate a home, you will want to partner with a professional realtor who can get that home sold.
