Even though 85% of your potential customers will either work or live within a 5-mile radius of your location, they may not notice your sign. It’s been demonstrated that 35% of people do discover a business they want to visit because of its sign. Whether they’re driving by your business or on foot, you want your sign to encourage them to walk through your doors. A recent survey showed that this was the case with 17% of Best Buy’s walk-in customers.

You could advertise specials, sales, customer gratitude days, and other information such as your website and phone number. A recent poll regarding billboards provided some information that might be of interest to you. If you own a restaurant, for example, the poll showed that 58% of its participants visited a restaurant after seeing it advertised on a billboard.
Do you own an event planning business? The poll showed that 58% of adults 18 and older learned about an event that interested them from a billboard.
If you have a retail business, you might find it interesting that 68% of the participants made a decision to go shopping at a specific store while driving by. Furthermore, 32% of the participants chose to visit a store that they saw advertised later in the week.
If you are affiliated with a church, imagine the messages that you could convey with a scrolling marquee sign. A church marquee could announce service times, uplifting messages, and other announcements. When you have a church marquee, you could also provide information on clothing, food, and book drives.
People overall will look at and read billboard messages. This includes traditional billboards as well as digital billboards with LEDs. The poll showed that 71% will take the time to read these signs, and over 37% will make note of them whenever they pass by. The messages on these billboards are reinforced as a result. While passersby will notice different features, the poll indicated that 26% made note of phone numbers and 28% made note of website addresses.
