Concrete walls look unsightly when they possess patches necessitating commercial concrete repairs. Using the concrete patch and repair technique, these patches can be remediated. The YouTube video “How to Patch a Concrete Wall with CPR” demonstrates how patches can be sealed.
The first step is to use a rubber sponge float to apply the grab coat layer of cement onto the concrete wall area to be patched. The cement layers should be applied using a lot of pressure to ensure that it enters the wall’s pores. Repeated levels of cement layers should be applied to the wall until the desired thickness is achieved.
After achieving the desired thickness level, excess feathered material should be removed from the edges using a straight edge. This should be done until the cement patch achieves a uniform and flat appearance. Using a misting bottle, wet the patch with water. Avoid applying too much water to the patch and smoothen the patch using your straight edge from top to bottom to prevent trapping air in the patch. Finally, apply a smooth finish using a slurry from the leftover cement patch. Use the rubber sponge float to make the slurry smooth.
